Radovan Karadzic, former Bosnian Serb leader, convicted of genocide, Moscow, RU.

Radovan Karadzic, former Bosnian Serb leader, was convicted of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity by a United Nations tribunal on March 24, 2016 at The Hague. Karadzic, 70, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the deaths of 8,000 Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica in 1995. He was arrested in Belgrade, Serbia in July of 2008 and his trial before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia has been called the most important in the history of the Tribunal.
