Viktor Bryukanov, Plant Director of Chernobyl nuclear station at the time of the 1986 accident, at the window in his apartment in Kiev, Ukraine. Bryukanov was prosecuted and convicted by the Soviet Politburo for serious errors leading to the 1986 disaster at Chernobyl and served five years of the ten year sentence. Along with his conviction Bryukanov was also expelled from the communist party.
